About

A small technology practice in Canberra, Australia

Coop Security makes field map packs, designs and builds apps, runs workloads on AWS and Azure, and writes security reports for cloud and on-premise environments.

The four services sit together because they are done the same way: a written scope before anything starts, work you can see while it forms, and everything handed over at the end. Each service has its own page: the map service, app design, cloud architecture and security reports.

Coop Security is run by Jacob, whose background is managed cloud operations: a private cloud of 40 customers and about 350 virtual machines, Microsoft public-cloud services delivered to resellers and their customers, and security reporting on Azure tenants as a service.

Certified on AWS (Solutions Architect Associate, 2022; AI specialty, 2026) and Azure (Administrator Associate, 2024). Based in Canberra; work is done remotely or on site in the ACT and surrounding NSW. History on LinkedIn; code on GitHub.

Animated line drawing: an isometric stack of five layers, network edge to service layer, with requests flowing in from customers on the left and results flowing out on the right. The technologies named are Fortinet and F5, VMware and Red Hat, Veeam, Nessus Pro, Nagios and Ansible, Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure and AWS, and the Microsoft CSP and TD SYNNEX service layer.
The platform stack behind the work: managed private and public cloud, run for other organisations. It loops; nothing to click.

How we work

Three habits

  1. Step 1: Scope in writing

A short call, then a one-page scope: what we will deliver, what we will not, the price and the date.

  2. Step 2: Work you can see

Drafts, test builds or the plan as it forms. Questions go to one address and get answered.

  3. Step 3: Hand over everything

Files, source, access and a written summary. Nothing you would need later stays with us.
